Hi, My name is Anita King and I am presently the Lead Tutor for the SFA reading program here at Lackland Elementary. I grew up in San Antonio where I attended Highlands High School and then went to Southwest State University in San Marcos, Texas where I obtained my B.S. in Education in May 1976.
I am the wife of a retired military person, mother of two boys (also of two cats and a dog that think they are human), and grandmother of two. After my husband retired from the military, we returned to San Antonio to live. I have taught both elementary and middle school in places such as Washington, Germany, Georgia, and am now at Lackland Elementary.
After spending eleven years at Lackland as a second grade teacher, I am now in my third year as Lead Tutor with our Success For All reading program and am looking forward to another wonderful year with this position and your children. I feel that Lackland is the most caring and professional school that I have taught at and consider it a privledge to work at a school that is so centered on the student and what is best for him/her. It is truely a school where "children come first" is the guiding thought in everything that is planned and done.
